The news has been busy this month with new and bizarre claims of what’s important to us… and sadly, sex seems to be taking a backseat. We know… it makes no sense to us either! Read on for the research.

Londoners Rate Sleep Over Sex

Sleep has become commoditised in London; trackers and aids to help us nod off and catch a good night’s zzz have exploded in popularity – and for a society looking to perform optimally, the health and mental benefits of a proper night’s kip have not gone unnoticed.

In line with this, according to ES Magazine’s survey of thousands of respondents, 81% now think that sleep is more important than sex while 59% have cancelled social plans due to a lack of sleep.

Personally, we think some fun between the sheets is always worth a few less minutes in bed – plus the benefits of sex are pretty significant too 😉

Turned On By a… Clean House?

There’s nothing wrong with a little mess – or perhaps there is?! A survey conducted by Decluttr of over 1,000 people claims that the state of our home directly affects our sex life – with 44% claiming they prefer a clean home over having sex.

Sexual Trends in Young People

Lastly, an American survey of thousands of young people from the University of Chicago has revealed that young males in particular may be having less sex. 23% indicated they hadn’t had sex in the past year – and 28% of those under the age of 30 said the same. This has increased from 8% in 2008.

Contributing factors to the decline include more TV time, pornography, elevated anxiety and stress. Young people are tending to wait longer before settling down too as well as being more financially dependent on parents for longer, having to remain at home where it may be trickier to get dirty between the sheets!
