This week Southampton has been all over the major news headlines, and why? A mystery noise that is keeping residents awake!

The Metro, Sky News and the BBC News have all reported on the story. The noise is said to be a low frequency buzzing, droning noise that lasts the duration of the entire night and is irritating residents.

Residents affected by the noise are growing increasingly annoyed, some even opting to leave town to stay with friends or wear earplugs to drown out the noise. The council has received numerous complaints over the incessant sound that starts at 10pm every night and the New Forest District Council and the Environment Agency have now been called out to investigate.
